Dress: Eliza Parker
Belt: Sussan
Shoes: Milu
Necklace: Quick Brown Fox
Just a warning: You’re going to see a LOT of this dress in the next couple of months as the weather in Melbourne gets warmer. It’s one of the most comfortable, flattering, and well-wearing cotton dresses I’ve seen, and it’d from one of my all-time favourite plus-size boutiques, Eliza Parker.
It’s called The Vineyard, and it’s also available in turquoise, and an extraordinary kelly green (take note, readers who were lusting after my Veronika Maine jacket).
It seems to be the new version of Eliza Parker’s original shirt dress, and I’ll admit that as much as I loved the previous incarnation, this one is even better.
The high v-neck collar and elbow length cuffed sleeves are the same, but the straight-line bottom half has been swapped out for a full, flirty skirt. With pockets!
The buttons down the front are more closely spaced in The Vineyard and as a result it’s miraculously, completely free from gapeage. The other difference seems to be that the fabric (a stretch cotton poplin) doesn’t crease nearly as quickly as Eliza Parker’s previous shirtdress; it looks just as fresh after a long day as it did when I first put it on.
It comes with matching sash, but I quite like the endless possibilities for mixing it up with brightly coloured accessories. It’s a fantastically versatile dress, suitable for everything from a day in the office, to a garden wedding.
Check it out now, and keep an eye on the Eliza Parker website and Twitter page for one of their regular awesome sales. (She’s got 15% off at the moment with the code FALLDRESS15)
oh wow its perfect! i love it! and pockets! yay! the other two colourways are amazing too!!
Aren’t they? I don’t really wear turquoise, but that green is definitely calling my name!
That is fantastic! I adore the yellow necklace, belt and shoes. As they would say in Little House on the Prairie: “you look [like] a fashion plate” 🙂
Aw, thanks Liz 🙂
OMG this is BRILLIANT!! You look gorgeous – it fits you perfectly, and you look so happy & confident in it. I might have to order a Kelly green one! And the pops of yellow? Pure perfection. Just wow!
Thanks Molly. I hope you DO order the Kelly green version, it looks just amazing, and I’ve been wearing my navy version heaps. VERY versatile & comfortable.
fantastic dress! Love how you’ve worn it with the yellow!
Thanks Franca. I’m loving yellow this season 🙂
Omg omg omg- no gaping! It’s a miracle- it can be done 🙂
Looks gorgeous and fresh, particularly with the yellow pops! And pockets!!!!
Thanks Shell. It’s such an amazing dress – I’ve been loving wearing it, and I’ve had lots of nice compliments. Two thumbs up!
This is so lovely! The dress is perfect, and it about knocks me over when they get the non-gapping, length and sufficiently-full skirt just right, hallelujah! Your yellow accessories are so awesome.
Though our styles are quite different, I really enjoy your blog and mention you in my most recent post.
Thanks Amber – and for the mention, too!
I just love the dress, non-gapping shirt dresses are like the holy grail – I usually have to either sew them up the front, or deal with the fact that they’ll fit my bust, but swim everywhere else. This one’s perfect 🙂
The yellow pops of colour look so gorgeous! Love the whole look! 🙂
Thanks Olivia! I always like to introduce a bit of colour into my outfits!
Ahhhmazing, as always! Love the cut and the pops of yellow are fantastic!
Thanks Crystal. Isn’t bright yellow the best?
That is an amazing dress. The black and yellow together is genius! I love any time you wear your yellow Minnie Mouse pumps.
I don’t wear them nearly as often as I should! I wish I was more comfortable in heels!
Loving the color combo and the attention grabbing necklace! Super cute!
Thank you Mandy! The necklace was a cheapie impulse buy, and I’m so glad I did – I wear it heaps!
This dress looks great on you! The yellow accents are perfect.
Thanks Mandy 🙂
LOVE! You pull it off beautifully!
That dress is so gorgeous on you. I adore the pops of yellow.
I was inspired to buy my very first Eliza Parker after reading this: Vineyard in the bright, grassy green. The postage was quite fast, in time for ten days away from home and a party, where I got lovely comments. i went by hip and waist measurements rather than bust, so the bodice is too big and needs to be taken in, but I’m happy (better than too small). thanks for the inspiration.
Hurrah! I’m so glad, Simone, and glad you got lots of nice comments. I love the green, it’s such an amazing, bold colour.
