Night and Day

Dress: Queen Clothing

Cardigan: Table 8

Boots: Duo Boots

Belt: City Chic

Earlier this week I was very lucky to receive an invite to attend the launch of the new Spring/Summer range at Chitra’s Closet. The range was absolutely stunning, and I’m hoping to be able to show you some of it first hand. I’ll be doing a proper run-down of the  night later when Joss has finished editing the photos, but for now believe me when I say the clothes look absolutely stunning!

I had to dash to the event from work, so needed an outfit that could transcend day to night with a few changes of accessories. Usually a black dress would pass muster, but considering Chitra’s love of colour (one that I definitely share!) I didn’t want to front up to the runway looking drab, so opted instead for a cardigan belted over my favourite Queen Clothing sheath dress. For the day I teamed it with boots and a wide elastic belt, then for evening I dressed it up a little with heels and big mother-of-pearl earrings.

Dress & Cardigan: As Before

Shoes: Zu

Belt: Bijoux Terner

And for the finishing touch; a hastily-done updo with a little peacock hairclip for a bit of class

  1. That’s such a gorgeous dress! But I think the cardigan is my favourite part of that outfit – it’s nice and long without being overwhelming. Gorgeous.

    1. It’s a great cardigan – I haven’t worn it for aaages, but a few weeks ago I dusted it off and remembered what a versatile piece it is, and it’s been on high rotation since then!

  2. 2 long navy cardigans? Wow.
Love your day to night transformation.
Where o where do you get the invites to the fashion shows? I love Chitra’s closet, I go there often.
LOVE the clip. Love it. lovelovelove (bad day, 2 wines, feeling very sappy).

  3. Hi Lilli – just wondering where you got your hair clip. It is lovely, and I’d like something similar.
    Thanks in advance,
    Maz

  4. Both outfits look wonderful. I especially love the peacock clip – it just rounds out the whole outfit with class.

How do you do your hair like that? It looks great, and the fact that you said it was a quick updo is intriguing me! I’ve been looking for different ways to do my hair for aaages.
