Fantastic Friday

Dress: Eliza Parker

Cardigan: Friends of Couture

Shoes: I Love Billy

Belt: Kinki Gerlinki

Hurrah for Friday evening, am I right? It was a short four-day week because of the Queen’s Birthday Holiday on monday, but ti still felt stupidly long.

I’ve been having a busy, busy time at work at the moment; working long (well, longer than usual) hours, and then into the evening with responding to emails and paperwork.

Oftentimes I don’t have enough time in the morning to put together an outfit I’m really happy with (which is distressing for little clothes-horse me).

Sometimes the outfit that I put together seems like it works in the morning, but by the evening I hate it.ย Sometimes I put together an outfit that doesn’t work, then run out of time to do anything so spend the day grumpy because I don’t feel like myself.

Sometimes, very rarely, I put together a new outfit which I feel doesn’t work, but I get so many compliments on it that by the afternoon I quite like it. (Approval, we all crave it)

Given time, I probably wouldn’t have worn today’s outfit, but I was rushing to get out the door so I sucked it up and wore it anyway. And apparently people like it.

The dress is an old favourite. Jessica doesn’t make it anymore, which makes me terrified that one day I’m going to tear a hole in it, and it can NEVER BE REPLACED. The cardigan’s the last from May(de)’s Friends of Couture cardigan bender. It wasn’t in the colour I wanted (olive green with orange polkadots) and just barely buttoned up but the sale was “three for the price of two” so I got it anyway. Seeing it with this dress I know I made the right decision.

  1. I think your outfit is great. That pop of mustard yellow in your sweater compliments your hair wonderfully & those shoes…stunning.

I feel much like you in the mornings about putting together outfits, so I have taken to putting mine together the evening before when my mind is more clear & relaxed. That way, I can sleep in an extra ten minutes ๐Ÿ˜‰ BONUS

  2. Really like this outfit! Colours are irrestiible and belt is the perfect finishing touch. Also, your recent cardigan spree was completely justifiable – all your purchases look great on you ๐Ÿ™‚

  3. i adore your combinations – this colour mix is something i would never have thought of! ever! i am going to use it as soon as possible – successful throw ons are the best – and when its wrong! this tends to be my monday morning downfall..x

  4. I totally have those days! In fact I’m having a lot of *those* days at the moment. My traditional reaction was to go and buy something new but through fear of actually being divorced if I buy any more clothes, I am trying something new. I’m not sure what yet, but when I discover it I’ll let you know.

I love the outfit! I really wish I could wear yellow…

  5. I LOVE this combination of red and mustard. I’ve been looking for mustard shoes for the longest time but haven’t come across a pair. ::sigh::

I have a dress from Asos which is almost the same colour as this one. Actually, I have this one, too, but the chocolate brown version – which would go just fine with mustard shoes as well, come to think of it. Must. Get. Mustard. Shoes. ๐Ÿ˜€

  6. Adorable!! I’ve been following your blog for a while, your style is simply fabulous!! And your shoes…you have amazing shoes. (I’m a total shoe girl!!!)
And the cardigan was a good decision!!
