Bit of a fraught few days, I’m afraid, so I hope you’ll all excuse my absence…

If you’ve been following me on Twitter you’ll know that my smoochy little furkid, Suki, got very sick on Thursday and spent Friday at the vet. Well, you’ll be happy to know that she’s back home, and though we’re still waiting on a couple of blood tests, it looks like she’s had a bad bout of gastro. Frightened the hell out of both of us, and it’s really knocked the wind out of her sails, so I’ve been a bit of a homebody while she gets back on her feet.

Today we headed out for lunch because one of The Sophisticate’s closest friends is home from China for a while. It was a Big Day, and I was keen to make a good impression. The Sophisticate had a special request for something “ladylike” so I put on my most fifties inspired ensemble: Full-skirted floral dress, pink cardigan… very Suzy Homemaker.

  1. Good to hear Suki is on the mend! Its always a little bit worrying when pets get sick, especially cats as they tend to go and hide to recover!

Love, love LOVE the outfit! What a gorgeous dress! I’ve gone in the last year from someone who had no dresses apart from my wedding dress to about 20 and I just can’t stop buying them!!!

  2. Glad to hear your little fur kid is doing better! Its always a bit of a scare when you have to take them to the vet unexpectedly.

Love the outfit! The florals and the pink look great together and definately very ladylike.

  3. I love that floral dress! And the color of the cardigan. You looked very pretty! I’m wondering if The Sophisticate was pleased, or if he thought it was over the top at all.

  4. Oh Suki, I’m so glad you’re okay. You frightened everyone!

Chris said he likes your hair. I say we should go and buy up all the other Cocolatte cardigans next Monday, because I wore my blue one three days in a row and now I wish for all the colours in existence, especially now that the weather is all t-shirt-and-thin-cardigan outside. (Finally!)
