A Sailor Went To Sea, Sea, Sea

Cardigan: Crossroads
Trousers: Queen Clothing
Shoes: TUK
Loving these new sailor-style wide-leg pants from Queen Clothing. Like everything that store has on offer, the quality’s outstanding, and the style is the perfect combination of innovative, different and classic. It comes with a helluva price tag, but the clothes last and last and last, so that’s all right then. (Plus, it’s nice to support local designers)
It took me a few goes to figure out how to do these trousers up (there’s buttons, then zips, then this flap thing, and some more buttons…) but they’re very flattering in a totally retro sort of way, skimming the hips, flattening the belly and creating a waist (huzzah!).
I’m not usually a big wide-leg fan (no need to create extra volume down there, right?) but these work nicely, and I look forward to summer when I can wear them with some fitted t-shirts, or a neatly tailored blouse.

  1. I've got the sailor crop pants from Queen, which I ADORE. But alas there are no zips, only 27,000 buttons.

  2. no matter what you wear you always look stunning! now, tell us your secret 😛 I want to look stunning at least once a week 😀

  3. I love this look, Lilli, it's one of your best outfits – the wide-legged pants are sooo flattering, who knew?! I've never been game to try them but you might've inspired me… Love the pop of red in your cardigan. It's all oh-so-French!

  4. Must be hard to go to the loo in a hurry with 27, 000 buttons (as Sally says!)… Queen is an old haunt of me and my friends, and I'd totally forgotten about it til you said. We used to live around the corner and hover outside wishing we had enough dosh.

I do think I was inspired to DIY clothes after a visit… (I'm incredibly thrifty and not a tight arse at all)

    xoxo

  5. To see what he could see, see, see…

  6. I just discovered your blog and adore your inspirational style and truly helpful sharing of information. Maybe you could start a new career of curvy girl stylist!

  7. 27,000 buttons sounds excessive – even for awesome Sailor pants, Sal!
