My heart goes out to the families who have lost homes and loved ones to the ongoing bushfires that are reaping destruction in Victoria and NSW.
At last count over 750 houses have been lost, and horrifyingly there have been 126 casualties.
I lost my home of 25 years in the 2003 Canberra Bushfires, and the support of the local community was extraordinary.
This is the worst natural disaster in Australia’s history and I would encourage everyone to give a little to the Bushfire recovery fund that has been set up by Red Cross Australia:
