Melbourne’s weather has been so peculiar lately – bright and sunny in the morning, then frigid and rainy by early afternoon and into the evening. Usually I just suck it up and shiver away to myself when the clouds come in, but I at home the other day when the change swept in, and took the opportunity to shuck the morning’s hopeful spring outfit for something a bit more suitable for the chilly afternoon.
So, essentially, my lunch break went like this…
“Isn’t it a nice day? I’m so glad I’m home while it’s still sunny and I can take my photo during the day!”
“Oooh – hang on, that wind’s pretty chilly…”
“Is that RAIN?”
“Well darn.”

green and pink…..controversial, but it works!! 🙂
LOL, thanks 🙂
I love both of your outfits (definitely pro green + pink… or is that more a coral?) and am now coveting those black Sussan jeans… so lovely!
As a recent arrival to Melbourne, I am still always so surprised by how quickly the weather can change here! Slowly getting used to carrying my umbrella everywhere and lots of layering!
Oooh yes! Never leave the house without an umbrella. And never buy suede shoes 🙂 And welcome to Melbourne!
I love love love the green skirt! Which season is it? I just had a quick look at the M&S website and couldn’t find it 🙁
Hi Jessica – this season 🙂 Here’s the link: http://bit.ly/aLWysV
haha this is such a cute post! I love both outfits, you can seem to pull anything off – so unfair! xx
Awww – thanks, Rai 🙂
Sounds like the weather in London! It was freezing this morning but is now mild and muggy! I adore that green skirt! I also like your black jeans and the royal blue cardi! I am on a quest for slim leg black jeans that FIT! So far I got an amazing pair from Joe Browns BUT they are too big so need another pair…size down!
Hmn… Black jeans in London… I’ll keep my eyes open 🙂
The weather here on the Gold Coast has been the same. It doesn’t know whether it wants to be winter or summer. Its so annoying!
LOL, yes it is!
That picture series was so funny:) I love that green skirt! (I love absolutely everything green these days, I’m starting to worry there will be no other colors in my wardrobe if I keep this up.) You look very cute in the last picture! That’s a beautiful blue color, and the blue cardi and the white and red striped top look very good together!
I love that green seems to be making a comeback. And yellow. It was impossible to find those colours a few years ago! Buy up now, I reckon 🙂
You’re enabling me. I don’t know whether to thank you or scold you. :=)
LOL, I’m the enabler queen!
You look fab as usual, Lilli! I love the green and coral I never would have thought of that combo but it looks great. Have you tried the green skirt with a black top / thick black tights combo? I’m just wondering as the buttons on it are black…not so Emma Pillsbury but I’m imaging it with a black top with maybe a little lace, lacey black tights? I look forward to seeing you remix that fab green skirt many more times 🙂
That sounds like a good idea, Jo – I have a lovely black top with lacy shoulders, so I’ll give that a go as soon as the weather warms up a leetle 🙂
Hi Lilli, I love your outfits – you truly have a gift for putting things together.
Quick question – can you show us the handbag you select for some outfits?
thanks 🙂
Hi Linda, thanks for commenting! I only blog bags occasionally, don’t I? I guess because I only swap my handbags over ever couple of months or so… I’ll try posting them a bit more often 🙂
Ha! That cracks me up! The weather has been so frustrating recently….such a tease!
I know! I’ve got a special party to go to tomorrow night and I’m hoping for (consistent!) warmer weather over the weekend. So far so good!
And that, my friend, is why I layer. You never know when the cold snap is going to break. I always have a pair of opaques in my handbag or glove compartment and usually a pashmina as well.
I love both the outfits though – the pink and green one is particularly cute!
Oooh – that’s a good idea. I have the most snuggly warm pashmina, but it always seems to sit in my drawers when I most need it 🙂
So sweet! I love both your outfits – you look as cute as a doll!
Greetings from rainy Germany – Hugs, Lola
Thanks Lola 🙂 Greeting from mildly more sunny Melbourne!
