Joan

ย Dress: Bettie Page Clothing

Shoes: Chie Mihara

ย If the Pinup Girl Clothing dress below is a Betty, then this Bettie Page Clothing dress is definitely a Joan. The russet orange colour is lovely to wear and gives my pale colouring a good warmth. The fabric’s pretty thin, and creases easier than I’d like and the dress never looks as flattering in photos as it does in real life. But I still like it.

Melbourne’s brief flirtation with spring came to abrupt halt last week, and we’ve gone back into chilly, rainy winter. I’ve realised how futile it is to use the tags “spring”, “summer”, “autumn” and “winter” here in four-seasons-in-one-Melbourne, so I’ve resorted to “warm”, “hot”, “cool” and “cold”. Today – for the record – is “cold”.

This weekend, mercifully, it was merely “cool”, which meant that I didn’t freeze in my strapless pink dress doing my Bridesmaidy duties. Photos to come ๐Ÿ™‚

  1. Love it! The ‘Joan’ dress is so you, Lilli.

Sydney is warming up and I’m sadly abandoning tights and unveiling my pale white legs to the world ๐Ÿ™ I’d happily embrace a few more chili days!

  2. Lilli, you’ve managed to pull off sexy and demure beautifully! What a lovely dress in a knockout color too! I love the neckline and sleeves. A perfect match for those gorgeous shoes!

  3. That color is terrific, and the cut is so very Joan! I completely agree with the comment above mine: you manage to pull off sexy and demure, which is no mean feat!

  4. I want this dress so bad, I love this colour and have so many *accessories* in this colour BUT not a single dress. Will try my luck finding it online.

  5. yes, this dress is awesome – but it looks too long for you.
Maybe hem it up an inch. The sleeve also look too long. Kind of like a costume that doesnt fit quite right.
