Cut the Mustard

Cardigan: Glassons

Blouse: Sportscraft

Skirt: DIY

Belt: Glassons

Tights: Sussan

Shoes: Chie Mihara

Hat: n/a (random sock shop in the Frankston Town Centre)

So I’m really a little bit into mustard at the moment, and over the last few weeks I’ve been on the hunt for mustard coloured shoes, a la Anjali from Golden Means who always makes me jealous when she wears her Kate Spade Kellie Too heels.

The search has been fruitless (so far! It’s ongoing!) but mustard kind of seems to be everywhere at the moment.

I bought this mustard-coloured cardi from Glassons during their 2 for $45 sale (the other cardigan’s a lovely olive green) and on the same afternoon I spotted the Perfect Floppy Beret from one of those cheapo sock shops that pop up in shopping malls around Australia. At $20 it was probably the most expensive item in the shop, but it was hard to go past when I saw how well it matched the cardigan.

  1. I’ve been following your blog for a number of months and this is possibly the best/my favourite outfit that I have seen you in! You look gorgeous and mustard works so well on you, and the hat is way cute.

  2. I love it! One of my all time favourites of yours! The yellow really brightens everything up and I just love the whole outfit. I think if you’d had mustard shoes it would have been a bit too “much” for me on the colour front but with the grey and browns it looks fabulous and I really like the way the glasses set the whole outfit off.

    *gush* *gush* *gush* !!

  3. Funny… I really want yellow shoes too, and I’ve been trying to hunt down your ivory hush puppy heels. No luck yet.

  4. Soooooooo cute. I love the combo of the top and the mustard cardigan. I love how sunny and happy the outfit is. Would love to wear something similar here where I live, as it’s usually rainy and grey, and those colors would definitely lift the spirit. =)

  5. I love this outfit so much I can hardly stand it- definitely my fave one in a while! I love mustard and am always attracted to it in shops but unfortunately it does not suit me at all. I don’t know how many mustard jumpers I need to try on to drive that message home but I live in hope! P.S- your hair looks AWESOME!

  6. Have you seen the Elk Accessories winter ballet flats in yellow? I have been completely covering them for soo long!!

  7. The first photo looks a little like you’re wearing knickerbockers – that would be the cutest outfit! And kudos on rocking the vintage frames.

  8. you look as keen as mustard >_<

While mustard is a pretty bold way to brighten up winter, I'm still a-swoon over the strong limes of the last two years. Good luck in your shoe hunt!

  9. I have the same mustard beret! I love it! As soon as I get home I pull it over my whole head and walk around looking like a gumnut baby.

  10. I love mustard too, especially for autumn! But sadly, it’s not right for my complexion…but I can wear on garments that are not next to my face, such as skirts. I think this autumn I’d like a mustard pencil skirt. You look great! This has inspired me to look for berets for our upcoming autumn (I’m in the UK).
