Zip-a-dee-do-dah

Cardigan: Barkins
Skirt: Sussan
Shoes: Claude D’alban
Brooch: My Mum’s
Yay! I’m halfway through a four days weekend, and feeling a smidge more relaxed than I have in a while.
I’ve had my hair cut (finally) and my horoscope told me – no kidding now – to “go online and buy those things that you’ve been hankering for” so I splurged a little during the 25% off Dorothy Perkins sale, and also picked up a cute cardigan and a no-doubt too-short skirt from New Look. Frugal February is well and truly over, methinks.
Alas, one of my more recent purchases – the snooty giraffe sweater – has turned out to be one of those items that simply doesn’t photograph well. I wore it a few days ago to blog for you, but the photos were not terribly flattering, so unless I come up with some genius new way of wearing it (any ideas?) you might not see it again 🙁

  1. I think the giraffe sweater really suits you, as is. Looks like fun to wear!
Oh, you also inspired me to get a fringe cut into my hair. I'm no Frocks & Frou Frou, but I look pretty good. Thanks.

  2. I don't think the giraffe jumper looks bad! But if you're not happy with the look, maybe try with wider legged jeans?

I have spent so much this past week!! I purchased:
    slim leg black jeans
    denim waistcoat
    7 new t-shirts
    2pairs of shoes
    and some pandora charms!!!
Ooh & a gorgeous polka dot dress for a wedding I'm attending!

So bad … I'm going to have an non spend April!

  3. Just because the giraffe sweater doesn't make a fabulous photograph doesn't mean it's not the most awesome thing EVER.

I think, if you were feeling wee and faerielike, it'd be cute to see it with a sort of fluffy skirt and polka dot tights. I think, instead of de-emphasizing the giraffe, you should take those spots and that whimsy and run with it.

  4. I love that pretty little spring top and the giraffe sweater! I like it with jeans, but I think it would be cute with leggings too if it's not too warm for you!

  5. Honestly: The giraffe sweater is beautiful on you, REALLY beautiful on you 😉
And honestly again: if you keep on not liking it, can I please have it. lol 🙂
I know, I've got some nerves to just ask that, being that this is the first actual comment I leave in here ;p
In the other hand, I've been following this blog for a month now, I don't comment cause I don't have a blog of my own and until recently I didn't know I could comment regardless…
    Have a great weekend 😀

  6. I love your sweater so much – please don't get rid of it (unless you want to post it over to me in Ireland 😉

Your cardi brooch is adorable too.

  7. Your taste in vintage jewellery is excellent.

I am a Mum and I own a brooch just like that one.

In the 1960s lots of young girls had "bluebird" jewellery. I still have my brooch, a necklace of small birds, as well as a locket with a bluebird on it.

  8. LOVE the giraffe sweater, must go online immediately and see if i can get one. idea for wearing it – with black pencil skirt and fun/crazy shoes perhaps with some colour in them, pink? orange?

  9. The giraffe sweater is great – I think it'd look great with a spotted red and white scarf tied around your neck. I like it with jeans.

  10. Really fantastic your blog. I look forward to future posts.
