Fake It Till You Make It

Cardigan: Jeanswest
Skirt: Sussan
Shoes: Ben Sherman @ Solestruck
This Jeanswest cardigan has been languishing in my wardrobe for at least a month now – I’ve barely worn it twice.
I (impulse!) bought it because I was on the hunt for a new green cardigan, and I liked the whole Town & Country feel of the cable knit. I pictured it with jeans and knee high brown boots, a woolly scarf and a snuggly beanie. But it just didn’t seem to work right on me.
I think I’ve cracked it though.
I particularly like wearing it with my bluebirds of happiness; which I inherited from my Mum when I was a little girl and have mercifully never lost – I need all the help I can get in the happiness stakes at the moment, and these always give me a little smile.
Another thing that’s giving me a smile is my new pair of Ben Sherman shoes!
The wonderful Danielle at SoleStruck sent these to me and I’m thoroughly in love. They’re so on trend at the moment, with the different leathers, the tweed detailing, and even a tiny little tassel that ornaments the side of the heel.
They’re really comfortable – the wedge heel is genius – and though I had a bit of a fit issue (alas, they were a size too big) Danielle offered some really good advice (gel innersoles and heel grips) that has enabled me to wear them. She also offered a different pair of shoes, but they didn’t have these in my size, and I couldn’t part with them 😉
I was really impressed with the service at SoleStruck – shipping was fast and easy – and YES! They ship Internationally! (Boo to you, Zappo’s!) They even ship for free if your order tops $199. They also offer no problem returns, have an easy to navigate site with lots of different pics and angles and have some of my favourite shoe brands (Irregular Choice, Sugar, Rocket Dog, Sam Edelman, Camper). I’ve already picked out my next pair, now to find the rest of the $199….

  1. Oh, I want those shoes! They are gorgeous. Off to investigate that site now.

I used to have earrings like those bluebirds, but a bit smaller, when I was a kid. I loved them!

  2. That is such a pretty outfit. The bluebirds are a great idea.

But those shoes. Oh my. Stunning. Love them very much.

  3. You look totally adorable.

I've browsed someo f your past posts and you're gorgeous. I love your style and confidence. Keep it up girl! *3 snaps*

  4. If you want to combine an order…let me know. I am totes lemming a pair they only have 2 of in my size!

  5. Thanks everyone!

Katrina I also have this darling little bluebird necklace that prickles dreadfully – I've been thinking about having it remixed by someone on etsy. I love the old enameled bluebird pieces – sometimes you see some remakes in jewellery shops, but it's just not the same.

A, Danielle from SoleStruck just contacted me out of the blue and asked me if I wanted to review a pair of shoes. Who says no to free shoes, right? But honestly – I was really impressed by their service and everything – I definitely wouldn't put my name on a positive review of something I thought was crapola, otherwise no-one would believe me when I reviewed about something really great! I've turned down a few offers because I didn't believe in their products, or didn't have any use for, like wedding rings and diet advice(!!)

The Librarian, I shall definitely keep that in mind! How much were your shoes for?

  6. Okay, I have finally figured out who you look like in this shot, and it's Michelle Williams. You look quite similar, and have that casual stylish appearance that makes folk everywhere jealous. Like me!
