Ahoy!

Top: Portmans

Skirt: Mokkafiveoclock

Shoes: Melissa

For the last few months I’ve been looking at nautical red/white/blue ensembles with my usual longing. Β It seems like such a nice warm weather combination.

This outfit was seriously inspired by one that I’ve seen on EtsyΒ – a red skirt teamed with a navy and white striped top (the belt’s still a work-in-progress!)

I ended up swapping out the gathered a-line skirt for a circle skirt from Mokkafiveoclock.

It is BEAUTIFULLY made – fully lined and really well finished. It came incredibly fast (all the way from Poland!) and I was so impressed that I’m now seriously looking at getting one of her vintage floral dresses or floral skirts.

Meanwhile, I promised Bianca a closer view of these Melissa shoes:

I love how open they are at the sides. The platform soles and moulded wedge heel make them look MUCH higher than they really are. Win!

  1. I feel another purchase coming on. That skirt is completely adorable! I have a full grey skirt that I’m complete enamored with, so naturally I’ve been wanting one in every color. Perhaps I’ll order one in navy blue from Mokkafiveoclock… and a floral one… and maybe a red one, too. And a dress…. or three. I’ll just take the entire shop, actually.

I always end up finding things by way of your blog that I simply can’t live without. My most recent purchase: the bird-print dress from eShakti. I’ve been checking the mail obsessively hoping that by some magical twist of fate the dress has arrived in (ahem) three days.

  2. I can’t find those shoes on Melissa πŸ™ And I need them in my life!! Thanks for the Etsy store link, might be spending some money there….

  3. Lilli, circle skirts were made for you! You look spectacular! I can’t believe how you can walk in those heels. I’m afraid I’d be flat on my face after two steps! πŸ™‚ I’m loving your hair in a pony tail!

  4. I adore those Melissa’s, I’ve never seen them outta the shop however, so pleased you’ve got them! OK OK in Sparta Place, Brunswick, has often very good Melissa’s and even though my friend runs the shop, I’d still go there, because she often has the best prices on them too!

    xoxo

  5. Ah! Perfect! Thanks so much for the close ups! I did think they were ridiculously high and was a little worried – glad they seem reasonably comfy! And yet another fabulous ensemble πŸ™‚
I went through (who am I kidding, I’m still going through it) a huge red, white & blue/black phase throughout high school. I am only just learning to diversify my clothing colours.
    Lovely post as always!
