Frugal February: Monochrome

Top: Barkins
Pants: Crossroads
Shoes: Wittner
Dear, oh dear. I’m in serious need of a haircut- I’m feeling quite wild and wooly, and my fringe is at the eyelash-skimming stage that always seems to result in a seventies style centre part.
I’ve consulted my Budget Nazi, and she’s okayed a Frugal February Haircut (it’s maintenance, man!) so I might duck in to see my Hairy Godmother towards the end of the week.
It’s still really warm in Melbourne, and I’m about at my tolerance level. I’m not a big hot-weather fan; it means sweaty legs, heat rash, migraines, and scalding hot steering wheels.
That said, the Sophisticate and I went and had Fish ‘n’ Chips at the beach last night, and as I dug my toes into the sand, tossed a handful of chips at the waiting seagulls and watched the sun set I had to admit that life was pretty good.

  1. Wow…I loooove the top! I am up for anything ruffly!

Speaking of haircuts, I need one desperately as well! It has been terribly hot in Melbourne lately but fear not, Autumn is coming! Hello to leggings and tights again!

  2. Loved your outfit! Just discovered your blog and it is an inspiration for me once I´m a plus size girl in North east of Brazil. It´s a bit difficult be like that and wear nice and cute clothes when everyone around is so thin! hahaha…but I do my best…wish I could shop in Australia… lol..
    Congrats for your blog!

  3. We went for a walk along St Kilda beach on Sunday, and afterwards I was saying to hubby that I really do like a mild sunny day with a bit of breeze. Summer, you can stay a little longer, but no more of this mid-30s stuff, okay? 25 is fine. 🙂

  4. I very nearly bought that top last week. It's fun seeing you style it, because I had planned to tuck it in to a pencil skirt. Versatile!

  5. Love your outfit!
I was looking through your archives and I really love your hair the way it is now- it really suits you 🙂
