A Cure For What Ails You

“Hello? Pity Party? Table for One?”
The perfect cure for defeatism seems to be to take one beautiful sunny weekend, two long sleep-ins, a plethora of ridiculously good food, a smattering of delicious G&T’s and share it with some great company.
This weekend I had a gorgeous friend & ex-workmate visit from Brisbane, so I picked my emo self up off the floor and hit the streets with her and the long, tall drink of deliciousness that is The Sophisticate.
I bought another pair of Shoes I Don’t Need and some ultra-cute bits of Frou Frou that you’ll see in days to come.
It’s been so long since I last took myself out for a good shopping trip – I’d quite forgotten how much I enjoy it! That said, I’m feeling enormously underwhelmed by what’s on offer in the shops at the moment (though admittedly there’s a bottle-green jacket at Veronika Maine that’s seriously calling my name, and a new handbag I spotted in the window at Brimelow’s that Must Be Mine)
I’m still struggling to feel inspired by my own wardrobe, especially considering the odd coldhotcold seasonal weather that Melbourne’s subjecting us to at present. I’ve been blogging for a bit over a year now (I know! I can’t believe it either!) and since the bulk of my clothes have been worn at least once over the last 12 months I’m finding myself, er, duplicating to some degree. Still, you don’t mind if I repeat myself from time to time? Right?

  1. Hello lovely one 🙂
you look great, as always 🙂 dress is just WOW! never thought that denim dress could look as good!
autumn here less than +15C and rain. I'm freezing and I'm a bit depressed, well, shit happens. Hope you will have a lot of sun and a lot of joy!
    big big hug 🙂

  2. That bottle green Veronika Maine jacket has been calling MY name for a few weeks now. Not sure if I can pull it off though. They also have a cropped cardi in the same colour.

    Looking good, as always.

  3. Yes just as I was adjusting to the warmer weather- BAM- Sydney weather is back down below 20C.
You look fab and I dont mind one iota if you repeat your looks- hells most of my wardrobe is on high rotation.

  4. Thanks, m. It's one of those funny dresses that doesn't actually photograph that well (I think it's the ditzy print) but I love it regardless. I'm totally pining for the warmer months, so I can put my floral frocks back on to high rotation!

I quite agree, Helene! It's easier to rationalise them as a purchase, too!

Thanks for the link, elsiee! She's just amazing, isn't she?

Oh emma, we can be twinnies! That green's fabulous – I think we can BOTH pull it off 🙂

    LOL, thanks, Luinae!

Sandra, I read somewhere that women wear 20% of their wardrobe 80% of the time… it actually makes sense, doesn't it? I guess my challenge is to see how I can wear that 20% in a new & innovative way…
