Lego-world

Gah! I’m having a terrible hair day! I feel like I’ve got one of those little Lego hair-mets on!

See? samesame!

Fear not, a trip to the hairdresser is imminent!

I’m in the process of growing out a disastrous perm – it was an ill-advised 30th birthday to myself: that curly/wavy hair that I’ve always wanted.

What was ironic was that I discovered – afterwards – that I was repeating history: My Mum gave herself the exact same present for her own 30th birthday. It’s not an experiment that either of us care to repeat, and I’ll be doing my level best to encourage any potential daughters from doing the same.

Isn’t it ironic that we always want what we don’t have? Sans-perm, my hair has barely a kink, and is very thick and smooth:

And I know I’ve got curly-haired girlfriends who would sell their soul for it, but I covet their locks, and would trade in a heartbeat.

Likewise, cup-size. There’s women around the world spending thousands of dollars to upgrade their bosoms while I look at my double-dee’s and wish for b-cups.

Wouldn’t it be nice if we actually could trade with other women (and men! I’m sure my other half wouldn’t begrudge me his gloriously long and lush eyelashes)

Anyway… bit of a random post, but it’s 15 minutes off pumpkin-time, and I couldn’t think of anything coherent about today’s outfit. Melbourne’s still doing it’s chilly thing (c’mon guys! It’s the middle of summer!) but I’m determined that the winter clothes have been Put Away, so I’m having to make do with what’s left in the wardrobe.

  1. I was only thinking yesterday how cool your hair was. It falls perfectly.

What cut are you thinking of getting?

  2. Oh straight hair perfection! I am having a bad hair year – it’s long, unstyled and mumsy at the moment. Getting it all cut off and short again on Sat. CANNOT WAIT!

  3. I must be one of the few people who are happy with their hair and boobs as nature provided.

I figure without my G cups I might just look fat rather than curvy. Was once told by a gay male friend that no one would ever notice my perceived figure flows because they’d never get past the rack.

As for my hair I’m happy with my wash n wear curl, because I know I can straightening it, is as easy as GHD. My mum had dead straight, fine hair and spent so much time trying to get some body and curl into it, so I did not envy her.

  4. I have bad hair nearly every day – think yourself lucky!

And I must say my sons have given you a thumbs up for including Lego on your blog. I read your post when the kids were chilling out after getting home from school and the Lego man caught their eye. Once I’d explained it, they disagreed that you had a hair-met, though.

  5. Hi Chantelle! I’m working my way back to a bob. I’m still trying to decide whether to keep the fringe. I’d actually love to go back to the china doll haircutt, but Himself HATED it!

Lucky Sally, a bit of new-mum pampering. Will Dr Mr be looking after your beautiful new bubby?

    LOL, thanks, Bec!

Go D_H! It’s always refreshing to hear from someone who’s comfortable in their skin! And why wouldn’t you be? Curvy body and wavy hair? Va-va-voom!

Ah Frumpy, bless your sons! It’s nice to hear that they don’t think I have Lego hair. I think young boys are honest to a fault, so it MUST be true!
